Clarify and Establish a Goal

While brainstorming shouldn't be restrictive, it should also be productive and ultimately achieve a goal or come to some sort of conclusion especially with group brainstormings. To prevent too many floaty ideas from dominating everyone's time, a clear goal should be established and acknowledged by everyone present. By understanding what goal(s) they're trying to achieve, their thoughts are more likely to focus and refine to relevant solutions.
